The near real-time data and edge processing capabilities (EDPCs), such as AI and prediction capabilities at the edge of the networks, will offer emerging possibilities to develop digital solutions to assist in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in cities, city-districts, and buildings. These new solutions can improve situational-awareness and assist users in monitoring, controlling, planning, and decision-making tasks. There will be multiple owners or holders for EDPCs and the leverage of EDPCs in achieving SDGs requires that there are incentives and means to exchange these assets in urban environments. This paper focuses on the analysis carried out within the scope of data marketplaces and determines the requirements and research themes for enabling the exchange and trade of EDPCs in the future cities.</p
